Virginia Catherine Varner

VIRGINIA C. VARNER WAYNESBORO, VA Mrs. Virginia Catherine (Ryder) Varner, 87, widow of Dayton Martin Varner, died at 7:55 p.m. on Thursday (August 11, 2011) in Augusta Health. She was born April 19, 1924, in Hot Springs, a daughter of the late Helen (Ryder) Halterman. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Varner was employed by Western State Hospital. She was a member of the Staunton Church of God and most recently attended Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ann Varner. Services will be private. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening (August 14, 2011) in the Henry Funeral Home.
