Listen to Obituary

William "Billy" Alexander Branham, Jr., 83, of Staunton, Virginia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, August 10, 2026.

He was born on March 25, 1943, in Clifton Forge, Virginia, the son of the late William Alexander Branham, Sr. and the late Margaret Irene Thompson Branham.

Billy was a member of Copen Independent Baptist Church in Copen, West Virginia. He was a coal miner and heavy equipment operator, who worked hard and took great care of his family, and a member of the Monacan Indian Nation.

He enjoyed fishing, reading his Bible, taking leisurely drives, traveling, and vacationing at the beach. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family. To those who knew and loved him, Billy will forever be remembered as a kind, loving, gentle, and godly man.

Billy will be greatly missed by the love of his life and devoted wife, Emily Carole Mays Branham, who survives him. The two were united in marriage on June 2, 1961, and shared sixty-five wonderful years together.

Also surviving are Billy's and Emily's five daughters, their "Branham girls", Vanessa (JR) Wine, Candace (Dave) Blake, Lisa Branham, Tracy (Jason) Branham, and Billie Jo (Daniel) Linger; his ten grandchildren, Angela (Bob) Fisher, Jessica (Todd) Lovett, Joshua (Aubreianna) Wine, Juan (Emily) Dorado, Ashlie (John) Lagergren, Daniel Blake, Briana (Katie) Blake, Dizzandra (Dravin) Linger-Gibson, Daniel Linger, and Carlos (Taylor) Dorado; nineteen great-grandchildren, Haley and Bradyn Morris, Luke and Noah Lovett, Jocelyn, Jonah, Graceaylyn, Samuel, and Jacob Wine, Savanna and Lexie Branham, William Alexander "Lex" and Cecilia Lagergren, Meadow Dorado, Riley and Landon Fisher, and Eric Jr. and Sarah Lopez, and Caleb Salazar; his two brothers, David (Bonnie) and Joseph (Debbie); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends; and two devoted caregivers, Susie and Chuck Newman.

He is preceded in death by his four brothers, Melvin, John, Fred, and Robert Branham; and his grandson, Nathan Andrew Branham.

Funeral services for Billy will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton with his pastor and best friend, Delmas Singleton. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.

Burial will immediately follow at the Grant Cemetery on Irish Creek Road in Montebello.
