William Lee Garrett, 84, husband of Bonnie Smeltzer Garrett, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024; at his residence in Staunton surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 24, 1939, in Roanoke, the son of the late Harry Lee Garrett and Eleanor Randolph Bowers Garrett Petty.

Mr. Garrett served in the United States Army Reserves for several years and was a salesman for over thirty years for the Keebler Cookie and Cracker Company prior to retirement. 

He was known for his sense of humor, enjoyed trains, especially steam engines, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife of sixty years, he is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth A. Pollak (Michael), Rebecca Garrett (David Gifford) and Barbara Deer; his sister, Nancy J. Duke; his grandson, Kyle William Garrett; and two great-grandchildren, Kabren William Garrett and Lillian Clark.

 At his request, there will be no services.
