William M. Scott

William Matthew Scott, Jr., 72, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

He was born on December 7, 1953, in Staunton, to the late William Matthew, Sr. and Gladys Mary Margaret Anderson Scott.

William was a hardworking man who spent many years working as a welder for McQuay. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors.

More than anything, William loved his family. He dearly loved his daughter and grandson and was also blessed to share more than forty-seven years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Taliafero Scott; his daughter, Karima Mariama Scott; his sister, Elizabeth Marie Scott; and his grandchild, Asyr Kace Scott.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Cleveland Scott and John W. Anderson; and his sisters, Caroyn Jane Scott Williams and Mary Ellen Durette.
