William Laird Wikel, Sr.

WILLIAM L. WIKEL, SR. STAUNTON, VA William Laird Wikel Sr., age 87, passed away Sunday evening, February 8, 2015. He was the last sibling of his immediate family to pass. Laird served in the firemens corp at the Navel Air Training Station in Daytona Beach, Florida during WW II. He was employed by the DuPont Company in Waynesboro, Va. for 42 years and retired in 1986. He was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Staunton. Laird is survived by his wife Betty Ann. They were happily married for 66 years. Also surviving are his son William Laird Wikel Jr and wife Concetta Ann who reside in Leland, North Carolina. Two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren. Henry Funeral Home will handle cremation. There will be no viewing or formal services. Friends, family, and members of the Memorial Baptist Church may visit the Wikel family at their home on Tuesday 2/10/15 & Wednesday 2/11/15. Times each day are 1pm-3:30pm & 7pm-8:30pm.
